EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This contractual deliverable of the WP 2.3.6 Weather Data Fusion contains:
- an operational benefit assessment,
- a functional analysis of the fusion application,
- a description of the weather data fusion algorithm,
- a high-level software requirement specification,
- a software design documentation
for the weather data fusion module.
The operational benefit assessment provides operational inputs to the design phase of the target product for the weather data fusion application.
The functional analysis of the fusion application describes the general process of the weather data fusion, and identifies the various steps for the data processing. It sets a basis for the short term (FFS) and long-term (target product) development of the application.
The description of the weather data fusion algorithm provides details concerning the proposed basic weather data fusion mock-up to be integrated in the FFS. It serves as a basis for the software requirement identification for the FFS.
The high-level software requirement specification and software design documentation parts aim at being detailed enough in order to perform the development for the baseline weather data fusion mock-up that will be integrated in the Full Flight Simulator.
It also aims at providing a research baseline for the weather data fusion function, that will serve as a basis for future enhancements of the algorithm (in D 2.3.6-3 Weather Data Fusion Detailed Specification).
More detailed functional specification and design - specific to the enhanced weather data fusion module that will be integrated on the test aircraft for the flight test campaign - will be included in the next deliverable of this WP (D 2.3.6-3).
