EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
D 2.2.8-1 is the first deliverable of FLYSAFE WP 2.2.8 “Internal evaluation and assessment”. It outlines the global evaluation strategy for the WIMS products.
It describes the independent data available for evaluation purpose and specifies the part task evaluation and main task evaluation to be performed for each WIMS: the wake vortex (WV), clear air turbulence (CAT), in-flight icing (ICE), and thunderstorm (CB) WIMS.

D 2.2.8-1 further describes the overall strategy of evaluation for the routine weather parameters and products and the ground weather processors.
D 2.2.8-1 shall function as the reference document for the WIMS evaluation (in WPs 2.2.2 to 2.2.5), the routine weather parameters and products (WP 2.2.6).
