The air traffic hazards are dealt with in the FP 6 IP “C-ATM”. Consequently, FLYSAFE will not propose to develop new functions or systems in those fields, but rather to use the outputs of C-ATM and integrate them into the Next Generation Integrated Surveillance System.

The work package is divided into two sub work packages:

• WP 3.1 “Analysis and Specification” analyses the needs of a traffic situation awareness system and specifies the requirements for a solution based on onboard equipment.
• WP 3.2 “Customisation and Validation” aims to select traffic situation awareness solutions from IPs of the 5th and 6th FP, and validate them for integration in the FLYSAFE platform.

The software components will be integrated on the NG ISS platform in WP 5.7.
