Consortium-Working groups-Operational Assessment-WP1.4 Definition of standards-related activities
WP 1.4: Definition of standard related activities

The objective of this work package is to define a list of standards, in which FLYSAFE partners will actively participate. For safety systems still more than others, definition of interoperable interfaces, procedures and operational performances is required on-board aircraft as well as for communication between aircraft and with the ground. WP 1 will also set the ground for the standard-related issues.
The FLYSAFE partners will review various standard definition activities linked to the integrated platform. They will select the most appropriate standards to work on. When no standardisation activity is existing, FLYSAFE partners will propose the opening of these new standardisation working groups. They will define and formalise the organisation between themselves to interact with these international bodies: creation of FLYSAFE standard working groups with appointment of leaders.
Their active involvement in the international committees will be done in WP 7.2.
List of candidate standardisation working groups is:

  • Meteorological activities (WMO, ICAO, EUMETNET)
  • Terrain, obstacle, airport databases; Traffic (RTCA / EUROCAE WG 44, WG 51 …)
  • Cockpit definition, HMI activities (SAE G10, S7)
  • Ad hoc meeting of ARINC SAI on Configurable-Integrated Surveillance System ARINC 768.
An index will be generated of all the international groups that should be involved in clarifying the institutional issues concerning the operation of the WIMSs.
