Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI) was founded in 1975 and it is the largest defense industry in Greece. Its main mission is to provide efficient and high quality services and products in support of the Hellenic Armed Forces as well as other clients nationally or internationally. Within the scope of its operations, HAI activities involve:

· Aircraft, Engine, accessories and avionics maintenance (overhaul, modification, upgrade, repair and logistic support)
· Development, design, manufacturing and after sales support of electronic, optoelectronic, telecommunication and information products for military and civilian use
· Design and manufacturing of weapon systems
· Development, design and manufacturing of aero structures
· Provision of services for Satellite systems

HAI can demonstrate great experience in detecting and analysing critical situations such as in border surveillance, health, network security and in prevention of natural disasters (eg. forest fires). In the FLYSAFE project, the company will be particularly involved in WP5 (Integrated Surveillance System), participating in such activities as the definition of end-to-end system architecture, the prioritisation of multiple terrain threats, the definition of flight scenarios and flight crew procedures, the definition and testing of technical usability and user acceptability, the analysis of database server requirements, and, finally, the integration of the NG ISS, along with the verification of system functionality.

The IP FLYSAFE is perceived by HAI as an excellent field for contributing all pre-existing know-how in the area of Surveillance Systems, so that an innovative European ISS, both functional and effective, will be developed.
