Euro Telematik AG (ETG) is a privately owned company, located in Ulm, Germany. As a result of a management-buy-out, the company was formed in March 1998 from Daimler-Benz Aerospace AG (Dasa) incorporating satellite-based navigation, on-board systems for future air traffic management and ground collision warning systems for aviation. ETG’s legal position since April 2001 is that of a joint stock company (AG). The company currently employs around 50 staff members with a turn over of around 7 MEUR. The Euro Telematik engineering staff is highly qualified and experienced with respect to safety-critical realtime systems, transport telematics and human-centred design concepts. The software developers are familiar with software development processes according to standards like RTCA-DO 178B. In December 1999, the quality management system of ETG was certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001. In the aerospace division, Euro Telematik offers the Ground Collision Avoidance System GCAS-2000 and a Cockpit Display of Traffic Information CDTI-2000 as products for General Aviation applications. The CDTI- 2000 is a multi-functional display system that visualises various information to enhance the crew's situational awareness. The system has been certified as a Multi-Functional and Traffic Information Display according to JTSO according to JTSO-C113 and JTSO-C147. Besides the built-in equipment, ETG distributes the Flight Companion, the leading flight navigation software in Europe for use on PDAs. The basis for all product development work has been built through a large involvement in international and national research programmes. Within the 4th Framework Programme ETG has co-ordinated the AFMS and AATMS projects and was actively involved in projects like FARAWAY II, 3FMS and FLITE. ETG recently completed the work as principal contractor and theme leader for onboard taxi management applications in the MA-AFAS project running in the 5th Framework Programme. |
