Diehl Aerospace GmbH is a member of the FLYSAFE Core Team. It is a high-tech enterprise and a key member of the German Diehl Group.

In July 2006, Diehl Avionik Systeme and Diehl Luftfahrtelektronik, two successful companies, merged to form Diehl Aerospace GmbH, a joint venture of Diehl and Thales, continuing the successful cooperation in the area of aircraft systems and offering system solutions and functions for the equipment from cockpit to cabin from one hand. Airbus, Boeing, Eurocopter as well as Bombardier and Embraer are among the key customers of Diehl Aerospace. Diehl Aerospace plays a decisive role in the development and delivery of equipment systems - in cooperation with its European partners - for the Eurofighter, Tiger and NH 90 platforms in the military segment.

Diehl Aerospace is a high-performance and internationally recognized partner of the aircraft manufacturers in the areas of avionics and cabin. Diehl Aerospace is responsible for the development and production of the new electrical Doors and Slides Management System, the High Lift Control as well as for the Cabin Lighting as a First Tier Supplier for the A380. The coloured LED cabin lighting system for the Boeing 787 is another new development of Diehl Aerospace.

At its locations Überlingen, Frankfurt, Nürnberg and Rostock more than 1200 qualified and dedicated employees stand for excellent competencies and quality in developing and manufacturing of avionics and cabin systems. To provide optimum service, Diehl Aerospace GmbH operates qualified customer service centres in Toulouse, Hamburg, Sterrett and Singapore.

Diehl Aerospace has contributed to a variety of EU-funded projects in the 4th, 5th and 6th framework programmes of the European Commission. Diehl Aerospace has been recently involved in the following programmes: NEVADA, ENHANCE, PAMELA and CRYOPLANE. Diehl Aerospace was among the principle contractors in ISAWARE II and the VICTORIA programme.

The participation of Diehl Aerospace in FLYSAFE constitutes a continuation and extension of its activities in human-machine interfaces and database servers. Diehl Aerospace has been assigned to lead work packages 5 (Next generation Integrated Surveillance System) and 7 (Exploitation, Standards and Dissemination).
